The movie FireProof, starring Kirk Cameron premiers September 26, 2008.
Fireproof is so different. The (protagonist) couple is already married ten years, but their love has grown cold. They’re heading in different directions and living separate lives. They don’t even resemble the people they once were. So the theme of the movie is, ‘Can a relationship like that be resurrected? Can you rekindle flames of love and romance in a marriage that’s all but dead?’ The movie gently leads audiences to the answer…
Shaunti and a few friends and staff went to see the screening of the movie at the Fabulous Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. Kirk Cameron was there along with the leading lady, Erin Bethea. Find out more about the movie and the actors at: FireproofTheMovie
An Interesting Story You Won't Find on That Website Kirk Cameron relayed this to the audience at the end of the movie at the Fox screening - I heard it with my own ears. He made a pledge that his lips would never touch the lips of another woman - even in his acting. So when one particular scene called for a kiss, the directors arranged to have Kirk's real wife flown out to Albany, Georgia just for that scene. Wearing a wig and the same outfit as the actress, his real wife is standing in for the actress in that kissing scene. Ahhhh - does it make you want to cry girls? I'm a hopeless romantic - what can I say.
If you go see the movie - come back and let us all know what you thought.

| Hey, this is a little late haha... I just thought I'd say that Fireproof was an amazing movie. I would really like to do the same for my future wife. I actually teared up a little at some points in the movie... What can I say? I am a romantic type of guy, I guess haha. |

| I love that movie. It seems a little fake at times, but it has a great message and I hope it will affect many people in our generation. |

That's so adorable that Kirk Cameron wouldn't kiss anyone except his wife! It makes me really glad that I haven't kissed anyone yet (I'm doing my best to save all my kisses for my future husband) because I know how special I would feel if my guy did that for me. I realize that this is slightly off-topic, but is anyone else saving their lips for marriage? |

| My gurlz and I are watching this next week for small-girls group. I haven't seen it yet, and we won't have much time for discussion afterwards I don't think (I heard it's about an hour-15 minutes/an hour and a half??) but any advice for talking about it or discussing it with them?? Should I watch it first??? |

that church also made another movie. i don't remember the name of it but it was with the same guy who was the coach in facing the giants. but the movie was about this guy who was the owner of a used car dealership and they would end up cheating their customers into buy the car for much more then it's really worth. something ends up happening and he starts to read his Bible more and decides to change the way he does business after seeing what God had to say. I don't remember the rest but I saw it when my family went of vacation a few years ago. this movie was made before facing the giants and it was made with lesser grade equipment then facing the giants and fireproof, but it's still really good. you also get to see the church in this movie. Man is that church huge. it looked bigger then a theater! As for fireproof, I really want to see it. my church is playing it on sunday night @ 7 but i think i might be working then which stinks because i want to see the movie but i also need the money since my school books and my art supplies cost an arm and a leg this semester and i still need more stuff. Plus i want to go on my church ladies retreat in march so i need to save up. hopefully i'll be scheduled from like 2-6:30 or something. |

That's so cool. To want to do that is one thing, but to be able to act on that is a pretty impressive, even if the director and such were Christian. I lose a lot of respect for people who kiss/have sex (simulated or not) for movies and such because it devalues them and it also probably ruins it for themselves too. Cayla, I kissed a girl I was dating in early 8th grade (I'm a senior now) before I really began following Christ and learned a better way to go about relationships, but it's not the end of the world. It would have been nice to say that my wife was the first woman I'd kissed (I can at least say it would be the first kiss since I learned more about Christ) but it's not something I worry about at all. |
